But what are we waiting until the morning of September 17 for exactly?
A countdown timer has appeared on the star's website, ticking off the days, hours and seconds until 9:30 a.m. on that date, when who knows what will happen.
The GIF next to it? That has nothing to do with this story. It's just hot.
The words "All Eyes On Me" caption the timer, provoking speculation that this could be the name of a new song or her eighth studio album.
It's a familiar lyric from her hit song "Circus," from the album of the same name, so that's not a bad guess. Regardless, she's a master of promotion.
Britney Spears is a pro's pro when it comes to teasing material, and engaging with people online. Or at least the people she hires to do that are pros.
She's already produced a pair of hit songs this year in "Scream and Shout" with will.i.am and "Ooh La La" for The Smurfs 2 movie soundtrack.
She confirmed this month that her new record, whenever it is and whatever it's called, would be influenced from Will.i.am and feature "a lot of guitar."
