We're down to the final two episodes in Scandal Season 3 after last night's installment saw Olivia Pope unknowingly allow her mother, Maya Pope, to get away from B-613.
How did she do that, you ask? By shutting down B-613 right as they were in the middle of a mission.
Scandal Season 3 Episode 16 started off with Abby in the White House as Olivia's proxy. After last week's realization that she's "the help," Olivia needed a break from Fitz. That break was, however, short lived as Fitz threw a tantrum and demanded to see Olivia
Olivia declined his request until she learned that Jeanine Locke, the woman with whom Fitz did not have an affair, wrote a tell-all memoir about her scandalous relationship with the President.
And that wasn't even a major facet of last night's episode.
Fitz hates that Andrew is sleeping with Mellie and after asking Olivia to get him off the ticket, he admits that while he doesn't love his wife, he doesn't want anyone else loving her either. Nice guy, that Fitz. A real winner.
Olivia takes care of the Andrew situation by threatening to lay bare any deep, dark secrets he might have hidden in his political or personal closet if he doesn't choose to leave Mellie alone. They both know that Mellie won't stay with Andrew if he doesn't have political clout. Look at everything she's given up to become the FLOTUS.
Andrew chooses the Vice Presidency over Mellie leading Mellie to give Fitz a well-deserved slap across the face.
Meanwhile, Abby and Leo Bergen tank Reston's campaign by telling his wife that she's doing time because he shot her lover and then leaking a private conversation between the two of them wherein he threatens to use the office of Governor to have his wife locked in a mental institution.
Olivia and Huck plan to take down B-613 for good with the help of Rowan Pope which leads to a sexy encounter between Olivia and Jake. She uses his feelings for her as a way to get close enough to him to get the information Huck needs to pull the switch on the spy agency and that leads to disastrous consequences.
Maya Pope, whom B-613 has under surveillance, gets her hands on a bomb which she plans to use on the President for reasons entirely unknown.
