Injuries to Bobbi Kristina Brown's face and mouth were the catalyst for police opening a criminal investigation of Nick Gordon, a new report indicates.
Police are also looking into suspected drugs found in the home in Roswell, Georgia, where Brown was found unconscious in a bathtub of that home.
The 21-year-old was discovered face down in the water by Max Lomas, police believe. She has been in a medically induced coma since January 31.
No charges have been filed in the case, though Bobbi Kristina's husband (or boyfriend, if you believe Bobby Brown) Nick Gordon is under scrutiny.
Friends of the couple - raised as step-siblings before turning romantic, although Nick was never legally adopted - say they often argued, violently.
Insiders say Gordon was jealous of Bobbi Kristina- not for cheating or anything shady but for the attention she received, while he was an afterthought.
In any case, officials are probing what happened to her before a 911 call alerted local paramedics to hear near-drowning a week ago Saturday.

Local media sources spotted her father, Bobby Brown, and grandmother, Whitney's mother Cissy Houston, at Emory University Hospital on Monday.
