Amid a massive lawsuit and reported murder investigation into Nick Gordon, Dr. Phil McGraw says he is still willing to listen to his side of the story.
Gordon is being sued by Bobbi Kristina Brown's estate for a pattern of abuse and theft that - allegedly - played a role in landing her on death's door.
His conduct has been shady at best and criminal at worst, and many observers feel he should be held accountable for Bobbi Kristina's plight.
Look no further than Gordon's interview with Dr. Phil this spring for proof. But McGraw says he is not writing off Nick and wants to hear from him.
"I still want to sit down, look that young man in the eye, and do the interview he promised me before I put him into rehabilitation," Dr. Phil told ET.
"I want to ask what happened that night. I want to give him a chance to tell his side of the story and answer the questions that people want to know."
The 22-year-old Bobbi Kristina was moved into hospice care later on Wednesday, having been in a medically induced coma for five months.
Brown's estate conservator Bedelia Hargrove filed a lawsuit claiming, among other things, that Gordon dragged Brown upstairs by her hair.
According to the lawsuit, Nick raided her bank account, stealing from her inheritance without her consent, even after she was comatose.
Most significantly, he allegedly knocked out her teeth hours before she was discovered face down and unconscious in a bathtub at her home.
On Thursday, the Fulton County (Ga.) District Attorney's Office in Georgia confirmed it is looking into the case amid "new circumstances."
Fulton County DA Paul L. Howard, Jr. said: "An announcement regarding a charging decision, if any, will be made at the appropriate time."
"In view of the new circumstances regarding the health status of Bobbi Kristina Brown, we will be reviewing the case with greater interest."
When Dr. Phil first sat down with Gordon in March, his interview soon gave way to an intervention as Gordon became extremely "volatile."
"I asked him if he was sober," Dr. Phil recounted. "And he said, 'No.'" (See highlights, or lowlights, of that very disturbing TV event below.)
"I transitioned him into a rehabilitation program, which I am told he did a lot of good, had work in and has completed," Phil said of Gordon.
Gordon posted once before deleting his Twitter account Wednesday: "We keep praying. She has fought hard this long. Don't give up hope."
