They really are thinking of the kids.
While many couples say this in their public statements following a split, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner truly do appear to have the best interests of their children in mind at the moment.
Multiple outlets have confirmed that the actor and actress are on vacation together in the Bahamas this week.
Affleck and Garner own property in that tropical paradise and reportedly took their children there to keep them out of the spotlight during this week's divorce chatter.
The stars are parents to Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.
"They plan on co-parenting and doing absolutely everything in the best interest of the kids," says a People Magazine insider.
Along these lines, Affleck and Garner have been separated for nearly a year.
But they waited until school was out on June 30 make their divorce announcement.
"They were together as a family that day," this source adds. "The family is united and, no matter what, will protect the kids. This isn't easy for anyone and it's devastating to Ben too.
"He loves his family and will always put them first."
Rumors continue to swirl over just why Ben and Jen couldn't make it, with some reports citing the former's gambling habits and others saying Affleck is too focused on his career these days.
But The Sun is going out on a fun limb and claiming Garner grew jealous of how close Affleck has remained to Jennifer Lopez over the years.
That tabloid even claims the former couple will reunite at some point.
