Barbra Streisand Oscars Performance Honors Marvin Hamlisch Feb 25th 2013, 11:10 Barbra Streisand made her return to the Oscars stage last night. The reason? To deliver a touching tribute to a dear friend. Barbra Streisand Oscars Performance Following the In Memoriam montage, which concluded with composer Marvin Hamlisch, Barbra took to the stage dressed in a black and gold gown, saying: "Marvin Hamlisch was a composer of extraordinary depth and versatility. He was also a very kind and generous friend who could always make me laugh." "Over the years, we shared so many adventures together. Marvin left us way too soon, but I'll always have those wonderful, wonderful memories." The legendary EGOT winner then launched into song with "The Way We Were," which Streisand collaborated on with one other than Hamlisch. Between this and Shirley Bassey's performance of "Goldfinger," the crowd and home audience were treated to a few unexpectedly powerful efforts. How do you think they did?
