Sebastien De La Cruz is 11 years old.
Yet the singer is clearly more mature than a handful of morons on the Internet, many of whom reacted to his national anthem performance on Tuesday by raining hate all over Twitter.
The former America's Got Talent contestant sang The Star-Spangled Banner prior to Game 3 of the NBA Finals... only to become the subject of racist Tweets that couldn't believe someone of Mexican heritage was honoring the United States.
In response, De La Cruz appeared on a Fox affiliate in San Antonio yesterday and responded to the haters.
"They don't know my life," he said. "My father was actually in the navy for a pretty long time, and I actually salute him today for that. I just wanna thank him and to be able to sing the national anthem. People don't know, they just assume that I'm just Mexican. But I'm not from Mexico, I'm from San Antonio, born and raised. True San Antonio Spurs fan."
The admirable young man also took to Twitter himself and wrote:
