Sean Sasser, an AIDS activist known to MTV audiences as the boyfriend of Pedro Zamora during the 1994 season of The Real World, has passed away. He was 44 years old.
Former cast member Judd Winick confirmed the sad news via Twitter last night.
"Our friend Sean Sasser has died," Winick wrote. "Our love goes out to his family & husband Michael. We will miss u so much."
Sasser was HIV positive and died of a rare lung cancer called mesothelioma.
He rose to fame in the early 1990s, as MTV made headlines for airing his commitment ceremony to Pedro on The Real World: San Francisco.
