Bill Belichick has bigger things to worry about than Tom Brady's balls or how to stop Marshawn Lynch from going full-on Beast Mode on him Sunday.
The New England Patriots head coach is reportedly expected to be called as a key witness in former star Aaron Hernandez's murder trial.
Prosecutors hope Belichick will help establish the mindset of the former NFL star in the months before the murder of semi-pro player Odin Lloyd.
On June 17, 2013, Hernandez allegedly took Lloyd to a remote industrial park where he, Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace shot him to death.
Odin Lloyd had started dating the sister of Aaron Hernandez's fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins, and reportedly the two athletes had a falling out.
Listed on the prosecutors' witness list, along with Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Belichick "has been told he should expect to be called to testify."
"He was interviewed after the murder occurred and prosecutors know it's a big gamble" to call the legendary and popular Patriots head coach.
"But Aaron did confide in [Belichick] that he feared for his life, because he was attempting to sever ties with some unsavory people in his life."
"Bill told Aaron it would be smart for him to lay low and not go out to nightclubs" in the months leading up to the murder, said an alleged insider.
"With no clear motive for the murder of Odin , the district attorney will use the coach's testimony to show jurors how paranoid Hernandez was."
Meanwhile, the source revealed, "the last thing Belichick wants to do is testify in a murder trial," especially a high profile case that is being televised.
The wild card for the defense attorneys could be Shayanna Jenkins, whom prosecutors submitted a petition for immunity in a bid to get her to testify.
Jenkins, the mother of Hernandez's child, was previously indicted on perjury charges, for allegedly giving false testimony to the grand jury in the case.
Prosecutors believe she got rid of the gun allegedly used in the murder, as it was captured on surveillance video in their home after the fact.
A jury of 18 people - 13 women and five men - were formally sworn in on Monday as the long-awaited trial is set to begin (after Winter Storm Juno).
Hernandez, 25, also faces an unrelated investigation for allegedly murdering two men after one of them spilled a drink on him in a club in 2012.
