V. Stiviano, the 31-year old woman whose recordings officially exposed Donald Sterling as a huge racist, is under investigation by the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office.
Authorities are looking into whether or not Stiviano tried to extort the Los Angeles Clippers owner by asking for money in exchange for not releasing any more damaging tapes.
According to KABC, the blackmail assertion was brought to the DA by someone associated with Sterling.
In late April, a pair of audio tapes hit the Internet.
In one, Sterling berates Stiviano (his personal assistant and likely lover) for hanging out with African-Americans in public; in the other, he sounds like a slave owner in bragging about how he puts food on the plates of his black employees.
Not long after the release of these tapes, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver banned Sterling for life from the league.

TMZ, meanwhile, reports that Stiviano has been arrested FOUR times over the past handful of years, using FIVE different aliases over that time. To wit:
IN 2002, Stiviano was booked by LAPD for petty theft. The arresting document lists her name as Vanessa Maria Perez. She was convicted and placed on probation.
IN 2004, Stiviano was arrested by Santa Monica PD for more petty theft and felony burglary.
IN 2010, Stiviano was arrested by LAPD for felony possession of a controlled substance.
IN 2012, Stiviano was busted for DUI. This time she was booked as Monica Gallegos, a 5'7" 110 lb black woman.
In addition to Vanness Maria Perez and Monica Gallegos, court records show that Stiviano has also used the names Maria Valdez, Maria Vanessa Perez and Mariamonica Perez Gallegos in various legal instances.
She and Sterling probably deserve each other.
