The prosecutor investigating the Justin Bieber egging scandal has reportedly told the victim that the singer should be charged with a felony in the vandalism case.
The quote, "If this isn't felony vandalism, nothing is," was supposedly made.
The deputy D.A. in the Van Nuys, Calif., office assigned the case of Justin Bieber egging his neighbor's house feels a misdemeanor charge would be outrageous.
According to TMZ, the shot-caller said that "if we don't charge him with a felony we ruin precedent for every other felony case we want to charge."
Question is ... will they actually do so, and will he pay the price?
The on-off beau of Selena Gomez is accused of egged his Calabasas neighbor's house in January, and goading the neighbor in the middle of the attack.
The neighbor and his 13-year-old daughter say they were face-to-face with Bieber, saw him clearly and have submitted bills totaling $20,000 in damages.
Police also have surveillance video clearly showing the pop brat smack in the middle of the scene at the time of the egging. So what's the holdup here?
The case has dragged on for months, although sources say it is being reviewed "at the highest level" and D.A. Jackie Lacey herself will make the final call.
The office has been divided over whether to charge him with a felony or a lesser misdemeanor, based on the severity of the egg attack and other factors.
According to deputy in charge, though, there's no question.
