Tuesday night on TLC, Kate Plus 8 Season 3 Episode 2 took us behind the scenes in the newest installment of the Gosselin family vacation to Maine last year.
It's unclear why the network decided to bring Kate Gosselin back to TV after all these years, but at least producers kept the focus on the eight children.
Mostly. Let's break down the episode ...
On Kate Plus 8 Season 3 Episode 2, the kids learned how to trap lobsters, shopped for souvenirs, enjoyed a a day at the beach, and went out for ice cream.
Pretty harmless, right?
The kiddos, naturally, got a little spooked by the idea of cooking lobsters they caught themselves, so they put them back ... and then bought pre-cooked ones.
Clearly money is not an issue for Kate these days. Either she's a more shrewd businesswoman than Celebrity Apprentice makes it appear, or TLC foots the bill.
Probably the latter.
In any case, Kate Gosselin continued to show that she's much more laid back the grating, Jon Gosselin-nagging harpy we often saw in the show's heyday.
Not only does she trust the kids to be more independent - their advancing age does not hurt, of course - but she is borderline chill about some stuff.
Ice cream for dinner? The Kate Gosselin of 2009 would have flipped her shit at the mere suggestion, as you're well aware if you watch Kate Plus 8 online.
Nowadays she's seemingly cherishing the little moments of motherhood like never before, and looks like she's truly at home, even in faraway Maine.
We can't quite believe it either, and it certainly makes for less celebrity gossip fodder than her old fights with Jon, but you gotta give credit where due.
Doesn't it just make you a little bit ill? Yes, we thought so.
