The always outspoken Roseanne Barr says she and just about every other woman in Hollywood knew about Bill Cosby and his alleged molestations for years.
"It surprises nobody." Barr told Access Hollywood Thursday.
Yikes. Really?
It's hard to surprise good ol' Roseanne.
She's kinda seen it all, or heard about it all. She is one of the most successful comedic actresses/writers/directors/producers in TV history.
Not only that, Barr, 62, did it at a time when women had an even more difficult time getting on TV than they do now.
Both she and Cosby battled it out against a predominantly white male TV landscape in 80's, and both of them rose to the top.
Now she's discussing Cosby's transgressions as if they were widespread and well known at the time.
"There's hardly any hairdressers or waitresses or working women who don't know somebody ... we all know women who know somebody, if not someone who went through it themselves, with Bill Cosby."
Roseanne has never shied away from going all out bashing people she's felt deserved it. So it's a bit surprising that she is hopeful that Cosby can "make it right."
Thanks a lot, Internet users. Now we'll never be able to watch The Cosby Show the same way ever again!
She doesn't seem angry or out to further destroy the comic's reputation. Instead, she talks about him like an old friend. She even discusses possible ways he could begin the healing process.
"Whatever it is, I hope he finds it, and I really do. I hope he finds it, because... I mean, he's a great talent. It's too bad, but, I mean, we're all half-nuts anyway."
"But, I mean, we go like this, 'Hey, I made a mistake.' How hard is this really? Seriously. There's a million ways. But there's nothing more powerful than, 'I am sorry.'"
Maybe it's Roseanne Barr's weight loss, (which by the way is still off. Go Rosie!), but Roseanne really wants Bill Cosby to earn a degree of forgiveness, to save his reputation, and to make this situation go away.
It's a nice surprise.
