Spring is here, and The Voice Season 8 is kicking into high gear, as it's make or break time for the remaining contestants as the live playoffs get underway.
Only three artists from each team will advance in the playoffs, and there are no coaches' steals left to rescue people, so the stakes are higher than ever.
The members of Team Pharrell and Team Blake competed last night, with Team Christina and Team Adam on tap Tuesday. Let's get into it, shall we?
Team Blake's Sarah Potenza kicked things off with the Lynyrd Skynyrd's classic "Free Bird," which Shelton helped her arrange for this strong performance.
Pharrell was a fan, and we're guessing so was America. For Team Williams' first performance, Caitlin Caporale sang Beyonce's "Best Thing I Never Had."
How did she do? Just ask one rival coach. "I can't say bad words," Adam Levine told Caitlin. "But I'll say this right now: that was blank-ing awesome."
We're inclined to agree. There were few clunkers on this evening, and Hannah Kirby taking on Carole King's "I Feel The Earth Move" was outstanding.
Christina Aguilera got on her feet during the spirited performance, which is saying something. That's got to carry her into the final 12, we'd imagine.
Lowell Oakley was next with "Jealous" by Nick Jonas, stepping out of his comfort zone. Ditto Mia Z riffing on the bluesy "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers.
Koryn Hawthorne channeled her minister father's influence with a gospel performance of "How Great Thou Art." Blake welcomed her to the top 12.
He doesn't make that call, of course, but it's hard to see America voting otherwise. Speaking of emotional efforts, Corey Kent White delivered a big one.
His grandfather passed away after watching White on The Voice, so Garth Brooks' version of "To Make You Feel My Love," was an appropriate song.
Brooke Adee took on "Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding, and Meghan Linsey treated us to a great rendition of "Love Runs Out" by One Republic.
Finally, and last but not least, Sawyer Fredericks closed the show out and brought the house down with a powerful cover of "Trouble" by Ray LaMontagne.
