Nicholas Brendon has acknowledged that he's in need of professional help.
According to a statement posted on the actor's Facebook page, he has entered a rehab facility for assistance with depression and substance.
"He's taking the steps necessary to better his health and give himself, and his fans, the gift of a healthy lifestyle," the statement reads.
Brendon has been arrested a number of times over the past couple years, including one arrest for destruction of property and drunken disturbance last October.
The Facebook message went on to reference Brendon's past troubles, which include a trio arrests this year alone, as well as a short-lived marriage to Moonda Tee and a brief stint in treatment last fall.
"He has been aware of his problems for some time - and with each new challenge, he gained a greater understanding of what needed to be done to overcome these obstacles and move forward with his life," his rep wrote on Facebook.
"Since his arrest last October, Nicky had tried several treatment methods -- from therapy, to outpatient services -- only to realize recently that he needed to take an extended break and treat the underlying issues of his illnesses."
