Yesterday, the Duggars were caught lying about their debt-free existence, which wouldn't be a big deal, were it not for the fact that living without debt is literally part of their religion and something they've been boasting about since 2007.
Today, In Touch Weekly is reporting that the Duggars have been paying police in Tontitown, Arkansas $25 an hour to provide security services, which wouldn't be a big deal were it not for the fact that that same police force is currently investigating the family.
Yes, despite the fact that the statute of limitations has run out on Josh's sexual assault charges, the Duggars are still under investigation by both the Department of Human Services and the Tontitown police.
Thus, the fact that Michelle and Jim Bob are paying police creates a serious conflict of interest, and the Duggars have apparently chosen an unlikely source to do their dirty work for them, possibly so that they can't be directly linked to the alleged bribery:

He's now working for the Duggars, and sources say he's the one who's been tasked with hiring local police officers to secure the perimeter around both the Duggar compound and Josh Duggar's new home in Tontitown.
Now that the arrangement has been exposed, the Duggars may be forced to look elsewhere for their bodygurads, as several law enforcement experts have spoken out against the Tontitown police for allowing its officers to enter into such a sketchy relationship with the 19 Kids and Counting Clan.
"I would be hesitant to provide security service for a family that my agency's been doing investigations on," says former police officer and current criminal justice professor Dr. Paul Kroutter. "I would want to avoid the appearance of any improprieties."
While the Duggars have not been accused of offering explicit bribes to the officers involved, it is expected that Tontitown officials will end the security arrangement now that the conflict of interest has been exposed.
