Justin Timberlake has posted an open letter on his website to both apologize for a wedding video that made the rounds on the Internet this week, and also to clarify a few points regarding it.
The video in question depicts homeless people wishing Justin and his new bride, Jessica Biel, well on their nuptials - and many have reacted harshly to the mockery of the subjects on film.
"I think we can all agree that it was distasteful," Timberlake writes, adding: "I was always taught that we as people, no matter what your race, sex, or stature may be, are equal."
JT goes on to say:
- The video was NOT actually shown at the wedding.
- He had "ZERO" contribution to it.
- His friends behind it are "good people" who simply showed a "lapse in judgment" in this case.
Concludes the artist:
"I do understand the reaction and, by association, I am holding myself accountable.
