Locked in a heated battle with Claire McCaskill, Todd Akin found himself on the campaign trail last week with unexpected supporters:
Michele and Jim Bob Duggar, the parents of 19 children and the stars of a TLC series about… the fact that they have 19 children.
Even if Todd Akin loses, let's hope he has learned the details of the Duggars Taters Tot Casserole recipe!
Akin, of course, was leading his race for the U.S. Senate in Missouri when he talked about the concept of "legitimate rape" in response to a question about abortion a few weeks ago.
But the Duggars are staunch pro-life believers themselves and headlined two days of rallies alongside Akin last Tuesday and Wednesday.
Republican leaders who once abandoned Akin have returned to provide endorsements and financial support now that his race is getting close and Election Day is nearing.
