Charlie Sheen has a knack for random acts of kindness.

Not long after helping Lindsay Lohan with her tax burden, the actor has cut a check for $12,000 to the family of Chris Guerra, the photographer killed on New Year's Day in pursuit of a Justin Bieber story.

Insiders tell TMZ that Sheen is close with another paparazzi member who knew Guerra well and jumped into financial action when he heard the family was having trouble covering funeral costs.

"A tragic incident like this erases the line between the photographer and the subject," Sheen told TMZ. "It's an unforgiving moment that begs us all to be human and work as one to prevent this in the future.
