Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult broke up, according to Us Weekly.
The couple mutually ended their two-year relationship very recently.
The Hunger Games actress, 22, and Skins actor, 23, met on the set of X-Men: First Class in 2010; they played one another's love interests in the film.
Lawrence, who was recently named Most Desirable Woman of 2012, hasn't given any indication the relationship was heading south in recent interviews.
"He is honestly my best friend, and hopefully I'm his best friend, too," the Silver Linings Playbook star told Elle magazine in its December cover story.
"He's my favorite person to be around and makes me laugh harder than anybody."
Fortunately for Jen, she'll have ample distractions in the next few months as she tries to move on from the breakup - it's awards season in Hollywood.
She's among the 2013 Oscar nominees, and may even win one.
