Political officials in India's Assam state have suspended a politician after he was accused of rape - and subsequently beaten by crowds in a village.
Clips posted to the web showed him being stripped of his shirt and slapped by several women. Take a look at the surprising footage in the video below:
According to the BBC, Bikram Singh Brahma was detained on Thursday after the victim's husband reported the alleged rape, which shocked his community.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi told the BBC his action was "condemnable" and he should be punished ... though this was likely not what he had in mind.
