Robin Thicke is speaking out on the Miley Cyrus Twerking controversy, saying he was merely the one who was Twerked upon at the MTV VMAs in August.
"That's all on her," Thicke, 36, says of Cyrus, 20, and their racy "Blurred Lines" performance, on Oprah's Next Chapter in an interview set to air Sunday.
"People ask me all the time, 'Do you twerk?' I'm like, 'Listen, I'm the twerkee."
"I'm twerked upon. I don't twerk myself, okay? I'm just twerked upon.'"
Calling all the hype "funny" and "silly," Thicke explains, "I was on stage. I didn't see it. So to me, I'm walking out towards Miley [and] I'm not thinking sex."
"I'm thinking fun, you know? I mean her and I don't have that kind of ... You have to remember, I'm singing my butt off. I'm sitting there. I'm looking up at the sky."
"I'm not really paying attention to all that."
Everybody else, however, was very much attention to Miley Cyrus dressed up as a Twerking, human condom and feverishly grinding on Thicke.
Criticism ran rampant, as did Miley's meteoric rise - for better or worse - to the top of the music charts and the height of pop culture at this moment.
Robin took a fair amount of heat for this, though, considering Cyrus' age and the fact that he's married to Paula Patton and has a three-year-old son.
But it sounds like the couple could not be happier. Thicke gushes about Patton frequently, and does so without fail in the interview with Oprah as well.
