Much to the chagrin of Fox, it turns out viewers might not want to watch two multi-millionaire recording superstars snipe at each other for two hours straight.
Amazing, right?
But the ratings for last night's American Idol premiere fell by 19 percent in comparison to the Season 11 opener, as 17.8 million households tuned in to see Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey go at it.
And to watch Ashlee Feliciano, Tenna Torres and other audition, we suppose.
