In an interview with CNN's Piers Morgan last night, Charlie Sheen said he favors stricter gun laws despite being a former weapons enthusiast and "collector."
His reason? "Because we're not supposed to bury our children," the actor said.
Referencing the Newtown, Conn., shooting the Anger Management star said:
"If anybody from the NRA wants to look any of those parents in the eyes from that school and tell them that guns are still necessary, then I urge them to, and see how that goes."
Sheen noted he had long been a gun collector, not so much for hunting but rather for sport as he used to practice shooting at a range at his house.
He no longer owns them because of his past legal woes, however.
"I was a target shooter, more of a weapons collector of a lot of vintage stuff all through the years of various weaponry," the Anger Management star said.
"Then I had a domestic [arrest] and [authorities] took them all away and I haven't gotten them back…I'm OK with it. I have a security team that's pretty well armed."
Despite his support for stronger gun control measures, Sheen confessed that he missed shooting as it was a positive outlet. "It was very zen for me," he said.
