William Fichtner to Play Shredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Jun 24th 2013, 17:35 The Michael Bay-produced Ninja Turtles movie has come under a ton of internet scrutiny since the project was announced. While the film was originally rumored to ditch the "mutant" origin story and instead make the turtles from an alien planet, a return to the full Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles title suggests that will not ultimately be the case. What will be the case, however, is that Megan Fox is in it. As April O'Neil. And now, William Fichtner has revealed that he will star as Shredder, the traditionally Japanese villain. Of course, it's nearly impossible to satisfy hardcore fans while adapting a classic property (which makes one wonder: why is it done so incredibly often?). TMNT fans have already had a lot of issues with the reboot, and the fact that Shredder will not be Japanese could only make it worse. Alan Ritchson, Pete Ploszek, Jeremy Howard, and Noel Fisher star as the turtles, with Will Arnett and Danny Woodburn also starring. Jonathan Liebesman directs the film, which will premiere June 6, 2014.
