Amanda Bynes' mother Lynn formally withdrew her petition to obtain a conservatorship of her troubled 27-year-old daughter, a new report indicates.
Lynn's attorney, Tamar Arminak, "notified the court on Thursday morning that the petition was being withdrawn. There will be no hearing on Monday."
Earlier this week, one of the former Nickelodeon star's attorneys, Richard Hutton, told the judge handling the starlet's DUI case that she us unfit to stand trial.
The lawyer handling her bong-tossing arrest, Gerald Shargel, indicated that she may be hospitalized until 2015 and asked for a postponement in that case.
The troubled starlet has been under a temporary conservatorship obtained by her mother after starting a fire in a driveway near her parents' house.
The temporary conservatorship expires Monday, September 30. Amanda Bynes remains under psychiatric care at hospital in Southern California.
As for why the new hearing was canceled? Amanda's mom, Lynn, was recently granted an LPS conservatorship. According to a legal source:
"A mental health (LPS) conservatorship makes one adult (called the conservator) responsible for a mentally ill adult (called the conservatee)."
"These conservatorships are only for adults with mental illnesses listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM)."
