We know at least one person who won't be in line this November for Catching Fire.
In an interview with The Guardian to promote his new novel "Doctor Sleep," acclaimed author Stephen King made his feelings on a few other best-selling books very well known.
Referring to The Twilight Saga as "tweenager porn," King explains of the books in this beloved series:
"They're really not about vampires and werewolves. They're about how the love of a girl can turn a bad boy good."
King says he actually read Twilight and "didn't feel any urge to go on," saying the same thing of The Hunger Games and adding that it's a quasi rip-off of his own work:
"It's not unlike [my book] The Running Man, which is about a game where people are actually killed and people are watching: a satire on reality TV."
What about Fifty Shades of Grey? King will pass, and that has nothing to do with the casting of Charlie Hunnam or Dakota Johnson.
"I read Fifty Shades Of Grey and felt no urge to go on," he said. "They call it mommy porn, but it's not really mommy porn. It is highly charged, sexually driven fiction for women who are, say, between 18 and 25."
Yup. Pretty much. And that's why it's doing so darn well.
