No future winner of The Biggest Loser is likely to look as rail-thin as Rachel Frederickson, thanks to "small but significant tweaks" to the series, reports indicate.
Sources connected to the show tell E! News that producers are looking to add more support and check-ins for contestants after they shoot the final episode.
The discussion about what happens to the contestants after leaving the ranch can be traced to the winner of the most recent season, Rachel Frederickson.
In the three months between the grueling on-air workouts and the season finale weigh-in, she lost an additional 45 pounds and shocked the audience.
At 5'4", she weighed in at 105 pounds, down from a peak of 260, leaving Jillian Michaels and the show's other trainers with their jaws on the ground.
In turn, "there might be more focus on what happens to the winner after they are supposedly done with the show," says one source tied to the hit series.
In past seasons, most contestants have actually gained back at least nominal sums of weight after leaving the ranch where The Biggest Loser is filmed.
When they leave the show, they aren't closely monitored or offered the multiple hours of workouts they receive while filming, thus the modest reversal.
