In an unexpected convergence of news stories, a Malaysia Airlines passenger plane reportedly crashed in Ukraine near the Russian border Thursday.
The Boeing 777 aircraft had 280 passengers and 15 crew members, according to news reports citing information from an aviation industry source.

The flight was heading from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, the main international airport in the Netherlands, to Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Kuala Lumpur is the most populous city in Malaysia.
