Rapper Gucci Mane will serve the remaining 28 months of his 39-month sentence after pleading guilty to a gun charge, according to news reports.
The 34-year-old Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, initially pleaded guilty back in May to the charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He was sentenced to three years and three months in jail, after reaching a deal with prosecutors; he could have done a 10-year prison term if he lost at trial.
Mane has been in custody for 11 months, so he will serve 28 months from the rest of his sentence, and will face travel restrictions once he gets out.
The judge sentenced him to pay a $5,000 fine and three years of supervised release with limitations on travel during that time, reports indicate.
Mane's lawyer has asked the court for the star to be allowed to serve his time in a West Coast drug program, citing negative influence in his hometown, Atlanta.
"He understands he has some work ahead of him and his goal is to bring resolution to this case and get back to performing," Gucci attorney Drew Findling said.
"He doesn't want anything to distract him," the attorney added. "He wants to do anything to get back to the work place and the work place is the stage."
Gucci already has an aggravated assault conviction from 2005, and was also convicted of battery in 2011. This was before the arrest last September.
In that situation, he was caught with Glock 40-caliber handgun, 11 rounds of ammunition and marijuana, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.
