The fate of Jake Ballard was revealed early on Scandal Season 4 Episode 20, as it turns out he somehow survived last Thursday's knife attack.
Russell (BOOO! HISS!!!! ) missed major arteries but hit a lung. So, with Charlie's assistance, Olivia, Huck, Quinn and David got Jake to an underground doctor type.
In exchange for operating on Jake, he told Olivia to "handle" a situation for him: get an assassin friend out of servitude to Mother Russia.
Liv agreed, going on to meet this killing machine and then tracking down her handler. But Olivia's offer of a blank check in exchange for letting his operative go free was met with resistance.
And, later, much worse: the assassin and her young charges were all found dead… as was the handler! At whose hands? Who do you think?!?
"You will never win," Rowan says over the phone to his daughter.
Back in the makeshift Operating Room, the doctor bails because his payment did not go through, while Olivia declares the war again B613 to be over. However, this was just a misdirection for Russell's sake, who was recuperating nearby.
Later on, in bed, Olivia pulls a gun on her lover and demands answers regarding Rowan's latest mission. Something called "Foxtail."
Elsewhere, as you'll see when you watch Scandal online, Cyrus appears on Sally's program to shoot down the perception that a senator should not be married to the President.
Despite Cyrus' attempts to turn the tables, Mellie isn't polling very well. Therefore, Fitz places a call to Olivia, who ultimately offers the idea that Mellie play up her access to the White House.
This spin works wonders with the Virginia voters that matter but, as Cy warns Abby, it may leave them with the legacy of a "whipped president."
Interesting. But sort of pales in comparison to the big Jake reveal, right?
