Ever since Dr. Walter Palmer killed Cecil the Lion, a beloved lion in Zimbabwe that lived in a sanctuary, he has been public enemy number one.
The public response to the killing was so intense that Palmer went into hiding and has not been seen since the news of Cecil's death was released.
Now, there is more incriminating news related to the dentist and big game hunter: Dr. Palmer is a seasoned hunter who has illegally killed other animals.
New photos have surfaced showing Palmer posing with a black bear he illegally shot and killed years before he traveled to Zimbabwe and killed Cecil the Lion.
Palmer shot the bear in a protected area, 40 miles from where hunting was permitted.
According to ABC, who obtained and released the photos, Palmer was well aware that he was hunting in a protected area. Even worse, he offered three guides $20,000 to lie and claim he killed the bear in a permissible hunting zone.
Thankfully, the guides refused. Palmer pled guilty to the charge of making false statement to an official, which is a felony.
He received one year probation.
The news of Cecil the Lion's death caused an outpour of sadness. Even Jimmy Kimmel was moved to tears when he covered the issue on his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live.
