Wounded Veteran Proposes to Girlfriend (But, Wait, There's More!) But nothing like the one featured here. It depicts retired Army Spc. Tyler Jeffries, who lost his legs in Afghanistan in 2012 and who was invited to the Bush family compound in Maine because he’s featured in the book “Unbreakable Bonds: The Mighty Moms and Wounded Warriors of Walter Reed.” Once there, Jeffries got down on one prosthetic knee and popped life's most important question to girlfriend Lauren Lilly. And she didn't just say yes... she said yes in front of two former Presidents! The 41st Commander-in-Chief’s longtime chief of staff, Jean Becker, says all in attendance “cried" after the proposal, while George H.W. Bush wished the couple a “lifetime of joy together” on Twitter. Allow us to do the same!
