A couple days after One Direction released its first single with him as a member, Zayn Malik has spoken out on his former colleagues' latest effort.
And he's a big fan!
"Proud of my boys the new single is sick," Malik Tweeted over the weekend. "Big love. :) x"
On Thursday evening, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne stunned fans by dropping "Drag Me Down" online.
As mentioned at the outset above, it marks the first track for One Directio after Zayn Malik left the group back in March.
It also went viral not very long after Malik signed a deal to be a solo artist and Tweeted that he's excited to make "real music."
This remark did not sit very well with One Direction fans.
But Malik and the young men he left behind appear to be on a very good terms nonetheless.
Just last week, Payne celebrated five years of One Direction and thanked Malik for being a key part of the memories.
"Wowwwww 5 years 5 boys what an amazing journey I couldn't thank you all ever enough and thank you Louis Niall Harry and zayn for everything," Payne wrote.
Malik learned of the message and responded to his friend with:
"@Real_Liam_Payne thanks bro !"
