Yesterday, we reported that former 19 Kids & Counting star Josiah Duggar and Marjorie Jackson broke up after less than four months of "courting."
Today, the young exes made it official by confirming the news.
The Duggar and Jackson families jointly addressed the split.
"Both Josiah and Marjorie have enjoyed getting to know each other and to build their friendship over the past months," reads their statement.
"We are so grateful that they each are seeking the Lord's will."
"A few weeks ago Marjorie and Josiah agreed to end their courtship, keeping in step with what they believe the Lord's will is."
"Both are thankful for the time getting to know each other, and their families continue to enjoy each other's company and close friendship."
It's widely suspected that Josiah and Marjorie broke up much earlier than their families are letting on, as they hadn't been photographed together in nearly three months, and that the breakup was at least in part due to the Josh Duggar sexual assault scandal.
The last photo of Josiah and Marjorie was taken just three days before Josh admitted to molesting five young girls, four of whom were his sisters.
A breakup within the Duggars' Quiverfull religious movement is virtually unheard of.
According to the Duggar rules of dating, the courtship process is to be taken so seriously that it is a prelude to marriage, or "pre-engagement."
The fact that Josiah and Marjorie were serious enough to announce their courtship in a video, but then broke up just a few weeks later?
Let's just say it's enough to raise some serious questions about what life is like inside the Duggar home these days.
