Last time we checked in on Keith Richards, he was cementing his place as the living incarnation of rock and roll by slamming Justin Bieber as a "wannabe."
Now, Richards has moved on from the low-hanging fruit that is the Biebs to focus on tipping over some sacred rock cows.
In a new interview with Esquire, "Keef" did something that's bound to shock some fans.
No, he didn't snort his dad's ashes again, but he did trash the Beatles' most critically-adored album:
"If you're the Beatles in the '60s, you just get carried away," Richards told the men's mag.
"You forget what it is you wanted to do. You're starting to do Sgt. Pepper. Some people think it's a genius album, but I think it's a mishmash of rubbish, kind of like Satanic Majesties—"Oh, if you can make a load of sh-t, so can we."
If you're not a classic rock fan, that might not seem like such a bombshell diss, but you have to understand that the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album is so revered that it's become a byword for a groundbreaking achievement.
By calling it a "load of sh-t" and comparing it to Their Satanic Majesties Request (widely regarded as the weakest of the Stones' 39 studio albums), Keith is bound to piss off many of the Beatles' millions of cultishly devoted fans.
And because he's Keith Richards, we're sure he couldn't care less - which is exactly why remains one of the coolest people alive at age 71.
