A loyal German Shepherd in France saved his 63-year-old owner from committing suicide by leaping up and knocking aside the gun she had pointed at her heart.
The woman walked into her garden in the French town of Sorgues and fired several test shots with a .22 caliber rifle before turning the gun on herself.
Just as she was about to pull the trigger, her loyal German Shepherd prevented the suicide, jumping in and knocking the weapon from her hands.
The gun went off and she did suffer a chest injury, but her wounds were mostly superficial. She was found by her husband, who rushed her to a hospital.
"As she pulled the trigger, her dog jumped on her and diverted the shot.
