A TV closed captioning service has apologized for misidentifying New Girl beauty Zooey Deschanel as one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects.
Seriously, that happened Friday during the hunt for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
Kansas-based Caption Solutions says it "deeply regrets" the snafu, with President Kala J. Patterson saying they "sincerely apologize for this error."
The erroneous onscreen text appeared on Fox affiliate KDFW in Dallas-Fort Worth, declaring "Marathon Bomber. He is 19-year-old Zooey Deschanel."
The fugitive was not Zooey, but 19-year-old college student Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, whose name must have looked or sounded similar to the actress' somehow.
Deschanel didn't ask for the apology, but she did catch wind of the TV caption blunder over the weekend, Tweeting: "Whoa! Epic
