The Federal Reserve will begin circulating a redesigned $100 bill this fall.
October 8 is the expected release date for the redesigned note, which was originally planned for February ... 2011. Production issues tabled that for a long time.
Unwanted creases during printing shelved the bill for over two years, but the U.S. Mint says that issue has been resolved, so the revamped $100 is a go.
The new $100 bill incorporates a host of colors and added security features, such as a blue, 3-D security ribbon and a disappearing Liberty Bell in an inkwell.
