Lea Michele took home the 2013 Teen Choice Award for Choice Actress last night, making her first real public appearance since the death of boyfriend Cory Monteith last month and honoring her former Glee costar in an emotional acceptance speech.

Glee also won the prize for Choice TV Comedy, with various cast members coming on stage and also remembering Monteith.
"Although we lost someone that we really love, we are very fortunate to come back to a show where we know the love of family," Amber Riley said. "Cory was like a brother to us, like a dad."
Jenna Ushkowitz, meanwhile, concluded the Monteith tribute by dedicating the show's award to the fans, telling the crowd and those at home:
"On behalf of our brother and our castmate, we know that Cory would want to dedicate this award to you."
Monteith, of course, died on July 13 of a heroin overdose. The series pushed back production as a result and delayed the Glee Season 5 premiere until September 26.
