It looks like Mike Will Made It isn't the only fan of Miley Cyrus these days.
During an appearance on Piers Morgan Live last night, father Billy Ray showered his daughter with praise, giving Miley props for shedding her Disney label and taking risks.
"She could've stayed Hannah Montana forever and made a great living doing that," he said. "But she's more of an artist than that and she wanted to make a living and evolve."
Billy Ray has been making the media rounds ever since Miley Twerked up a controversial storm at the Video Music Awards and then got naked for her Wrecking Ball video.
Following the latter, he gushed over his child's "God given talent."
Why has the 20-year old been going to such racy lengths?
"Miley's smart enough to know that to come out of the shadows of Hannah Montana, it really takes something extremely drastic," he told Morgan. "When you go to that level, it creates passion, and passion is either love or hate. But there's no middle of the road for passion."
Adding that the singer has "risen to a whole new level" over the past few weeks, Billy Ray says this is all part of a strategy. It's all been ""thought out in advance."
And it's certainly worked: "Wrecking Ball" marks Miley's first-ever #1 single.
"She's really very focused and loves what she's doing," the older country star said. "And that's the main thing for me as a dad, seeing my little girl doing what she loves and making the music that she loves to make and hanging out with some incredibly talented producers, singer-songwriters, musicians."
