In an unexpected turn of events, celebrity gossip followers learned this week that Zac Efron checked into a rehab facility in early 2013.
Now, in yet another shocked, TMZ reports that Efron did not seek professional help for a drinking problem; but rather that the actor has something in common with Lamar Odom:
He was hooked on cocaine.
Sources say Efron's drug use became a serious issue while filming the comedy Neighbors in April, as Zac often missed days of production and everyone on set was aware of the reason why.
"It was common knowledge he was struggling with cocaine," alleges this insider.
Multiple sources tell the site that Efron battled a cocaine addiction and also dabbled in the purest form of Ecstasy (aka Molly).
The actor and his friends even tore up a Las Vegas hotel room - to the tune of $50,000 in damages - a few months ago while on a cocaine binge, making it even more incredible that this habit was kept a secret for so long.
But Zac is reportedly on the road to recovery and we wish him well in the future.
Neither the actor nor his reps have commented publicly on any cocaine-related allegations.
