The Vampire Diaries featured three deaths, one resurrection and a whole lot of snoozing this week.
Seriously, did anything actually happen?!?
If a friend of yours missed The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 7, you could catch her up in about 10 seconds:
- Amara, Silas and Tessa all died.
- Bonnie was made into the new anchor to The Other Side and can now feel the pain of each supernatural death.
- Stefan collapsed at the end of the hour because he is still bogged down (or something) by the memories of Silas submerging him in water for three months..
- Oh, and Katherine is aging rapidly and could be dead in a few months.
There was a lot of running around and some lost electricity, but this was mostly an hour dedicated to cleaning hour.
Which was definitely a necessity, if only for the sanity of Nina Dobrev. The girl can only play so many roles. Sheesh!
But The Other Side nonsense has been played out for far too long and we've been bogged down with far too many convoluted backstories regarding side characters we just met.
Sorry, but I don't care about your very old love story, Silas and Amara. Let's hope everyone can move on now that these people are all dead.
There's a secret society at Whitmore. Let's delve into that! A Traveler is actually inside Matt. Can we give him some screen time, please? Let someone else man the kitchen at the Grill for a few moments, okay, Julie Plec?
Enough with the never-ending stream of dopplegangers and enough with new characters taking up some from our long-running favorites. Let's hope The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 8 shifts the focus back to where it belongs...
... and let's hope The CW actually follow
