Elan Gale: Airline Feud Was All a HOAX! >>Hollywood

Looks like The Bachelor producer Elan Gale's epic airline feud with a fellow airline passenger was about as real as the show he works on for ABC.

The 30-year-old L.A. native confessed to staging the Thanksgiving Day saga in which he took on "Diane," Tweeting that he was just being funny.

With growing speculation that Gale's Turkey Day feud was all in jest, Gale took to Twitter to explain. "So many questions unanswered about Diane."

"In 15 minutes I will post the photo and hopefully we can resolve this." He then captioned a pic of an empty chair: Here is Diane sitting in a chair."

With due credit for execution, that's pretty weak, we gotta say.

A commenter the asked: "Did you make it up, yes or no?"

Elan Gale replied, "Yes." Soon after he added, "I conclude by saying hopefully a few people got a few laughs over a slow Thanksgiving weekend."

Many of Gale's followers didn't find the hoax to be funny.

"Writing fiction and selling it as a documentary is more than just dishonest," one follower tweeted. "It's a BS PR scam of the highest order. SHAME."

Gale replied, "Ha. all my tweets for three years have been humorous (or tried to be) if you didn't examine the context it's your fault. Not mine."

Shameful or hilarious, the man's supposed beef with an allegedly rude, deranged and bitter passenger named Diane Thursday quickly went viral.

"Our flight is delayed. A woman on here is very upset because she has Thanksgiving plans. She is the only one obviously," he sarcastically tweeted.

Gale continued updating his 144,000 followers with his exchanges with (and provoking of) the increasingly distraught Diane over the next few hours.

He even concluded the saga by claiming he was slapped by an incredibly pissed off Diane after the flight landed, and that he declined to press charges.

You have to acknowledge the attention to detail that went into the whole charade, but like The Bachelor, it's hard not to be a little let down that it's fake.

At least we'll always have the epic Twerking fail. Oh, wait. Never mind. Kimmel's credibility is kinda lacking too. Sharkeisha is real though ... regrettably.
