Cee Lo Green is no longer living The Good Life on TBS.
The network axed this reality show - which aired six episodes this summer, chronicling Green's reunion with hip hop group Goodie Mob - on Tuesday, just hours after Green pleaded no contest to ecstasy possession and then got into a Twitter debate about allegations that he drugged and raped a woman in 2012.
At one point in that debate, Green made the assertion that one cannot be raped if one is not conscious. Really. He said this.
"People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!" Green wrote. "If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent."
The former Voice coach later deleted this message, thanked God for his exoneration and added last night via Twitter:
"I truly and deeply apologize for the comments attributed to me on Twitter. Those comments were idiotic, untrue and not what I believe."
Gotta love the parsing there, don't you? The comments attributed to you, Cee Le? Which PR strategist told you it would help to sort of pretend you didn't actually make the original comments?
The artist escaped jail time by pleading no contest to drugs charges. He was sentenced to three years of formal probation and must complete 360 hours of community service.
A network insider, meanwhile, claims The Good Life was canceled was due to poor ratings. But come on.
That's as believable as Green trying to subtly claim his rape remarks were incorrectly "attributed" to him.
