In the days since Joan Rivers stopped breathing during a surgical procedure, there have been a number of ups and downs with regard to the legendary comic's prognosis.
At first, Rivers was placed in a medically induced coma and dependent upon life support.
Early today, we learned that Rivers is expected to emerge from her coma, but several years of rehab will likely mean the end of her comedy career, and could even prevent her making any more public appearances.
We received more mixed news just moments ago, as TMZ is reporting that Rivers has been moved from the ICU to a wing of the hospital devoted to recovery.
Unfortunately, that doesn't necessarily mean that her condition has improved.
"My mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable," reads a statement from Joan's daughter, Melissa.
Many are interpreting Melissa's lack of new news with regard to Joan's progress as a bad sign.
Our thoughts are with the Rivers family, and we're wishing Joan a full and speedy recovery.
