Perhaps the most beloved person on Earth - and definitely the most beloved British woman among American women - celebrates her birthday today.
Yes, the Duchess of Cambridge herself, Kate Middleton, is now 33 years old!
We weren't really kidding above. Unless your name is Camilla, or Queen Elizabeth (if you believe the tabloids), does anyone not adore Catherine?!
Just days after giving birth, Kate Middleton appeared in this blue dress and women the world over rejoiced to see her sharing her postpartum body proudly.
It's safe to say that Kate Middleton has enjoyed an eventful year since her last birthday, raising a beautiful young son, and getting pregnant again!
Kate, or "Babykins," as husband Prince William affectionately refers to her, is expecting the royal couple's second child (gender unknown) later this year.
Needless to say, she will look as radiant and stunning while pregnant as she did the first time, and likely not show until the eighth or ninth month.
Then lose the weight in like three weeks. Women would hate her if it weren't impossible, but she's Kate, and is pretty perfect. Or so we like to think.
She may be universally beloved, but she's not afraid to ruffle feathers for the sake of her brood, as evidenced by her moving her family to the countryside.
Kate also wants no royal family members around her kids to the extent that this is possible, a brazen ultimatum but one Wills apparently respects.
Happy wife, happy life, right? We know who calls the shots.
Kate Middleton and Prince William back when they first started dating. Such an adorable picture ... and such a head of hair he used to have!
Kate is no stranger to life in the public eye, and clearly has a titanium spine and thick skin, given the scrutiny that goes along with dating Prince William.
Which she did for years (see gallery above) before making it official during the Royal Wedding of 2011, when she became a fan favorite across the Earth.
How can you not be a fan of the first commoner to marry an heir to the throne in over a century, and such a charitable, demure, elegant figure to boot?
She and William embody everything one would hope the royal family represents, and have been the perfect standard-bearers for the next generation.
So what if she supposedly works less than any royal family member. She's a mom to a 1-year-old, which comes first and is plenty of work, thankyouverymuch.
With her long history of giving back, and a personality that's at once kind, grounded and magnetic, Kate has earned our love this year and every year.
Did we mention she's also gorgeous?!
