The FBI is called in to investigate when a DEA raid goes horribly wrong on The Mentalist Season 7 Episode 6, but the DEA tries to strong arm Abbott.
DEA Agent Gonzalez, who had a confrontation with Steven Korbell, entrepreneur and supposed drug dealer, ends up dead in his home after the raid.
Jane quickly figures out that Korbell has an inside man in the DEA, and believes that Gonzales figured this out and that this is what led to his death.
Meanwhile, Abbott confides in Jane that ten years ago, he killed a cartel commander he believed was about to kill a bus full of innocent people.
Abbott could go to prison, and Lena's career could be destroyed.
At the same time, it's Jane's birthday, and on that special occasion, The Mentalist claims he can guess what Lisbon is going to get him as a gift.
Not so. He ends up truly surprised, however. By what, exactly?
