One Direction heartthrob Zayn Malik supposedly became the latest victim of an iCloud hacker last night when photos that were believed to be stolen from his fiancee Perrie Edwards began to make the rounds on social media.
At first, Twitter exploded with news of the leak, but in time, obsessive 1D fans began to express their doubts.
After all, very few 21-year-olds inspire as much devotion as Zayn, so if you're gonna fake a nude, you better do a flawless job. Turns out the person responsible for this alleged hoax did not.
Sure, the torso in the photo seems to have most of Zayn's tattoos (impressive attention to detail, given the amount of ink Malik rocks), but Directioners who probably know Zayn's tatts better than he does noticed that one was missing.
It seems Zayn has a gun tatted on his hip, and the dude in the photo does not. Also, some of the pieces on his chest are apparently closer together than they're supposed to be.
Seriously, people spent a lot of time figuring this out.
So if you're insane for Zayn, please accept our condolences - it seems the pics are fake.
This, of course, isn't the first scandal that Malik's been involved with in recent weeks.
Back in November, Zayn missed a Today Show interview, prompting Matt Lauer to ask if he was suffering from substance abuse issues.
Malik responded angrily (with good reason) and he eventually re-joined his mates on tour.
Hopefully, the rash of false alarms is over now, and Zayn won't continue to be forced to explain himself in 2015.
