A source close to Paris Jackson's family says that the troubled teenager may be headed to a longer-term treatment center out of state before long.
Paris will stay "at least another week" at UCLA Medical Center in L.A. and then she'll be going to a facility for additional care," the source says.
The move comes after a great deal of discussion within the family of Michael Jackson's daughter about how best to care for Paris going forward.
The teen, who has a recent history of mental health issues that include cutting, was hospitalized June 5 for taking pills and slicing herself with a knife.
"This has just been so hard for Mrs. Jackson," says the source of grandmother Katherine Jackson, who has legal co-guardianship of Paris.
"She is so [worried about Paris Jackson] and keeps saying she's never had any experience of how to deal with someone in this situation."
The decision to move Paris to a longer-term treatment center was made by Katherine, Paris' biological mother Debbie Rowe, and doctors.
It is in part based on Katherine and Debbie's joint fears that Paris had "fallen in with the wrong crowd" in Los Angeles, says the source.
The facility will include both school and therapy, at a location where the entire family believes she will have sufficient time and space to heal.
